In addition to donating his own print, Poleskie was instrumental to the making of numerous other notable prints in the series during the sixties. He was the founder and master printmaker of Chiron Press, which produced Paris Review prints by Ellsworth Kelly, Jack Youngerman, and Andy Warhol, among others. Poleskie’s wide-ranging artistic practice also encompassed painting, photography, writing, and performance; as a pilot, he performed what he called Aerial Theater, tracing patterns into the sky with smoke. He once described this practice as “the art of true nature, an art given free to a vast public audience.”
